The PCB Pakistan Cricket Board is filing an appeal against the decision of independent adjudicator to reduce Umer Akmal’s ban from 3 to 1.5 year’s.
The appeal will be filed under Article 7.5.4 of the PCB Anti-Corruption Code at the CAS Court of Arbitration for Sport, Switzerland.
The disciplinary panel of the PCB had suspended Umar from all types of cricket since 27th April.
According to PCB, Umar was found guilty of having breached Article 2.1 of the Anti-Corruption Code by failing to report the match-fixing approaches. Further, he showed no signs of remorse and did not cooperate with the investigating team and the Security and Vigilance Department of the PCB.
