PCB-Pakistan Cricket Board, post 67th Board of Governors meeting held in Karachi, has decided to introduce in domestic cricket a youngster’s talent support program under the ‘Pathway Junior Contracts’ plan.
In addition, the Board also announced establishing ‘Pathway Cricket Foundation ‘ through which PCB will appoint qualified coaches for young cricketers.
Under the Pathway Junior Contracts, PCB via strategic partnership will award the most outstanding and bright cricketers under the ages of 11, 14, 16 and 19 will be awarded 100 contracts. Based on which, the selected talented cricketers will receive a stipend of PKRupees 30,000 per month and also earn 100 percent scholarship, which will make them eligible to cost-free education at a leading local educational institutions.
And as to Pathway Cricket Foundation, PCB through strategic will appoint qualified locally residing foreign coaches at the National High Performance Centre, Lahore. The coaches will be responsible for nurturing and developing 100 cricketers in teens for future events, including the U19 PSL, which is planned to be held in October 2022. Besides the coaches will also contribute towards providing assistance and support to the well established and upcoming cricketers.
