Anna van der Breggen of Netherlands captured the women’s time trial title during the Road World Championship 2020 held in Imola, Italy.
The event commenced on 24th September and will culminated on 27th September. The venue for the contest is the 31.7 km circuit in Imola.
Breggen finished the track in 40 minutes and 20.14 seconds while the runner up Marie Reusser of Switzerland cycled for 40 minutes and 35.14 seconds to reach finish line.
The third spot was clinched by Ellen van Dijk of Netherlands.
The title defender Chloe Dygert of USA crashed out during the race and has to withdraw from the competition. She was winning during the initial phase but lost control of the cycle near a corner and hit a barrier.
The cycling event was sponsored by UCI Union Cycliste Internationale, the world governing body for sports cycling. The UCI issued racing licenses to participating riders and enforced disciplinary rules related to corona safety measures and doping.
