The Defence Raya Club Championship and CEO Cup 2022 commenced at the immaculate looking Defence Raya Golf Course on Saturday. The final 18 holes of this title bearing event will be held on Sunday when the top performer will emerge as the Golf Club Champion of Defence Raya Golf and Country Club for the year 2022.
At the completion of the first 18 holes on Saturday some of the 18 handicappers who surfaced as contenders of merit are at least ten young ones. The one with the best net score for the first round is Mustafa Wajid and through steady and accurate play he came up with a net score of 67, five under par. For this competitor that represents an admirable performance and makes him look acclaimed amongst his playing mates.
Two others with paramount scores are Abdullah Khawaja and Asad Tariq. They are bunched at a stirring score of net 69. Ali Zaman Malik and Naveed Asghar are placed at net 70 while Moiz Farooq and Salman Butt are at net 71. For these relative new comers to the national golf scene the experience is rewarding and beneficial.
Participating in this amateur golf contest are over 152 aspirants, which includes around 50 amateur golfers who play to a handicap of 18.
