‘The Best’ award nominees have been announced by FIFA-International Federation of Association Football. The virtual ceremony will be held on Thursday, 17th December at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland and broadcasted live.
The three Best Player finalists nominated are:
- – Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo – Juventus; the Polish Robert Lewandowski – Bayern Munich and the Argentine Lionel Messi – FC Barcelona.
Messi had also won the 2019 award. Ronaldo won the 2016 and 2017 editions.
The Best Awards 2020: Postponed
The Best Coach nominees are:
- – Argentinian Marcelo bielsa, Germans Hans-Dieter Flick and Jürgen Klopp, who are respectively the coaches for Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
The three applicants names have been included for 2020 premio Puskás which is awarded to the author of the best goal. The nominees are South Korean – Luis Suárez (FC Barcelona), Son Heung-min, from Tottenham Hotspur, and Uruguayans Giorgian De Arrascaeta (Flamengo).
