A joint bid by 3 countries namely USA, Mexico and Canada won over Morocco’s bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups have already been sanctioned to Russia and Qatar respectively.
The 3 countries joint proposal got 134 votes from FIFA member nations as compared to Morocco who got 64 votes.
With 48 teams taking part in 80 matches, this upcoming mega event will be the biggest World Cup in the world of football.
