FMC Independence Day National Junior Squash C’ship ’19: Haris Captures The U19 Title
LAHORE: Haris Qasim won FMC Independence Day National Junior Squash Championship 2019 here at Punjab Squash Complex Lahore.
All the three category finals were competitive and treat to watch the young talent in action.
The Under 19 final lasting for 41 minutes was won by Haris Qasim of Punjab by defeating Zeeshan Zeb of KPK – 11/5, 11/9, 8/11, 13/11 in 41 min. Haris Qasim won the first two games rather easily with Zeeshan Zeb fighting back and winning the third game. In the 4th game Haris regained his winning streak and won to capture the U19 title.
In Under 15 final M. Amaad of Pakistan Air Force beat Anas Bukhari of Punjab. The final score was 2/11,11/7,11/9,5/11,11/3 in a match lasting for 53 minutes.
Under 13 boys final was won by Mehmood Mehboob of Punjab by beating SakhiUllah Tareen of Pakistan Air Force 5/11,9/11,11/5,11/5,12/10. The match went on for 51 minutes .
Pakistan Squash Circuit: International Tournament From 26th August
After the match while talking o the media, Haris dsid that participation in international events had given him a lot of exposure and experience. Appreciating the support and encouragement from his father he added that playing on his home courts of Lahore was also helpful.
The awards were distributed by the Chief Guest, Air Marshal Shahid Alvi, alongwith Punjab Squash Association President Dr. Nadeem Muktar and Secretary Sheraz Saleem.
