The La Liga continued for Week 21. Allsportspk presents the main highlights:
- The most watched game was between Valencia and FC Barcelona as not only both are big teams, but Barcelona also played the first under their new manager, Quique Setien. The game saw Barcelona lose 0-2 against Valencia and drop to the second place. Maxi Gomez scored both the goals for Valencia and was the obvious man of the match.
- Real Madrid on the other hand, scored a late goal against Valladolid in the 74th minute to pip it 1-0 and get back to the first place. Nacho scored the goal to get Madrid an invaluable win.
- Atletico Madrid drew against the 10-men Leganes at 0-0, so did Celta Vigo vs Eibar.
- Real Sociedad thrashed Mallorca 3-0 while Sevilla too thumped Granada 2-0.
- Espanyol drew with Athletic Bilbao 1-1 after what we saw a nail-biting contest between the two.
- While, Osasuna too beat Levante 2-0 and Villareal pipped Alaves 2-1.
- Valencia was too upset by Mallorca 1-4 and it continues to fall down the table. Mallorca won this important contest to save themselves from relegation.
- 10-men Espanyol beat Villareal 2-1 while Alaves too beat Levante 1-0.

- Real Madrid are top of the table after they not only beat Valladolid 1-0, but Barcelona too lost its game against Valencia.
- FC Barcelona have dropped points against Valencia and have dropped to the second spot. Their +2 Goal Difference margin against Real Madrid is now -1.
- Sevilla have taken a long stride and have climbed to the third place after beating Granada 2-0. Getafe are 4th after winning their last game too.
- Atletico Madrid have dropped to the 5th place from the 3rd spot after tying against Leganes. They are two points short against Sevilla and are marginally behind on goal difference against FC Getafe.
- Valencia has also climbed to the 7th spot after undoing the likes of FC Barcelona. Real Sociedad are 6th meanwhile.
- Celta Vigo, Leganes and Espanyol have lost/tied their important games too and remain on the verge of relegation.
