André Gomes is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a centre midfielder for English club Everton, on loan from Barcelona, and also represents the Portugal national football team.
Gomes played for three years at Benfica, where he won the domestic treble in the 2013 – 14 season. In July 2014, he was signed by the Spanish club, Valencia and after 2 years, Camp Nou signed the talented midfielder.
When he was approached to pick between his Portugal colleague Cristiano Ronaldo and his Barcelona accomplice Messi, Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes gave an increasingly discretionary answer.
In an interview to the Spanish publication Marca, when asked to pick between Ronaldo and Messi, Gomes said:
“I do not like to compare them out of respect”
“I will never answer it. I’m Portuguese and I have affection for Cristiano, as much as I do for Messi, who is my teammate at Barcelona.”
