The FIFA governing management announced that U-17 Women’s World Cup which is to be held India has been rescheduled for 17th February and 7 March, 2021.
FIFA also announced that new dates for the Under-20 Women’s World Cup, will now be 20th January till 6th February 2021 in Panama and Costa Rica.
The U-17 tournament which was originally to be from 2nd-21st November 2020 was postponed due to the coronavirus attack.
In terms of age factor for U-17, FIFA clarified that the original eligibility criteria will be applicable. Thereby, players born on or after 1st January 2003 and on or prior to 31st December 2005 will be eligible to compete.
The original five host cities for the U-17 Women’s World Cup are – Navi Mumbai, Guwahati, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar.
