French Open ’19 Women Title: Ashleigh Barty Wins; Ends 46 Years Australian Wait
PARIS: Australian Ashleigh Barty won the French Open 2019, in a dominant manner.
Ashleigh took 70 minutes to defeat the young Czech Marketa Vondrousova 6-1, 6-3, which was more so a one-sided women´s final.
With this win the French Open singles title also went back to Australia after 46-year. In 1973 Margaret Court had won the French title.
In tennis ranking to be announce soon,Ashleigh Barty will move up to the world second position, behind Naomi Osaka.
Interestingly Barty, who took took an unusual break in 2015 from tennis and played professional cricket.
