Men’s Tennis Highlights
Match: Alexander Zverev Vs Dusan Lajovic
Result: Alexander Zverev defeated Dusan Lajovic at the French Open by 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, 1-6, 2-6.
Highlights:
- Alexander and Dusan both players showed their dazzling performance today against each other at French Open 2018.
- Both players were winning the sets one by one but Alexander managed to win the last two set by 6-1, 2-6 and won the match.
- Now the German star will face the Bosnian Tennis player Damir Dzumhur in the round of 32.
Match: Novak Djokovic Vs Jaume Munar
Result: Novak Djokovic defeated Jaume Munar at the French Open 2018 by 7-6(7-1), 6-4, 6-4.
Highlights:
- It was a fight between the former world number one,Djokovic, and the 21 years old Jaume Munar. A thrilling match was witnessed by the crowd.
- In the first set, both the players tried to beat each other and nobody wasn’t sure who will win it. But, Novak won the 1st set on tie.
- After that, Novak gave his best in the next two sets and won it in a rhythm 6-4, 6-4.
- Novak made it to the round of 32 where he will be facing Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain.
Match: Pablo Carreno Busta Vs Federico Delbonis
Result: Pablo Carreno Busta defeated Federico Delbonis at the French Open 2018 by 7-6(0), 7-6(2), 3-6, 6-4.
Highlights:
- Pablo Carreno of Spain and Federico Delbonis of Argentina, both gave each other a tough fight in all the sets.
- The first two sets were worth-watching as both the sets were decided on a tie and eventually Pablo won them.
- Although, Federico won the third set by 6-3 but the Spaniard couldn’t took any chance to lose the next set and he won it by 6-4.
- Pablo Carreno will now play against the Italian Marco Cecchinato in his next round.
Match: Cameron Norrie Vs Lucas Pouille
Result: Cameron Norrie defeated Lucas Pouille by 6-2, 6-4, 5-7.
Highlights:
- Cameron Norrie of British and number 2nd UK Tennis player after Kyle Edmund was set to face Lucas Pouille in the French Open.
- Lucas Pouille of France put up a good fight against the British star but his luck wasn’t today with him.
- Cameron won the first two sets but Lucas managed to win the third so he could be safe in the tournament.
- As soon as the 4th set was about to start, a problem occurred with lights because they were fading, so the match was suspended due to it.
Match: Grigor Dimitrov Vs Jared Donaldson
Result: Grigor Dimitrov defeated Jared Donaldson by 6-7(2), 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Highlights:
- What a match it was between the two Tennis professionals as the winner of the match was decided on the 17th game of the match.
- Both the players looked quite in form as they were winning sets one by one.
- But Grigor sealed the victory by winning the last two sets of the match and made it to the next round.
- The Bulgarian, Grigor Dimitrov, won his 50th Grand Slam win by reaching the 3rd round(Round of 32) for the 3rd time.
- Now, Dimitrov will face the Spaniard Fernando Verdasko in his next round.
Match: Kei Nishikori Vs Benoit Paire
Result: Kei Nishikori defeated Benoit Paire by 6-3, 2-6, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Highlights:
- Benoit Paire was the home favourite to win this match but to his surprise Nishikori made it to the third round.
- Although, losing the first set to Kei, Benoit won the next two sets by putting up a good fight against the Japanese.
- But Kei didn’t lose hope and struggled hard to win the next sets which he did and won the match.
- Kei will play against the Frenchmen Gilles Simon in the round of 32.
Match: David Goffin Vs Corentin Moutet
Result: David Goffin defeated Corentin Moutet by 7-5, 6-0, 6-1.
Highlights:
- A clinical display was given by the Belgian, David Goffin, as he won all the three sets.
- The first set was tough for David but he managed to win it from 7-5.
- Corentin didn’t stand against the Belgian in the next two sets as he defeated him with a big margin of 6-0 and 6-1.
- The Belgian will now face Gael Monfils of France in the round of 32.
Women’s Tennis Highlights
Match: Caroline Wozniacki Vs Georgina Garcia Perez
Result: Caroline Wozniacki defeated Georgina Garcia Perez by 6-1, 6-0 .
Highlights:
- An absolute display of beauty by the Danish professional, Caroline Wozniacki, as she finished the match in just 51 minutes.
- Caroline defeated the Spaniard Georgina in the first set by 6-1 but she just didn’t stopped there.
- Wozniacki continued to beat her opponent and eventually won the second set by 6-0.
- Caroline will now be playing against Pauline Parmentier of France in the round of 32.
Match: Sloane Stephens Vs Magdalena Frech.
Result: Sloane Stephens defeated Magdalena Frech by 6-2, 6-2 .
Highlights:
- Sloane Stephens, the U.S champion, won in a rhythm 6-2, 6-2 from the Polish Tennis player Magdalena.
- It was a comfortable win for the American as she didn’t have to face a breakpoint and won in just an hour.
- Sloane will now face Camila Giorgi of Italy in her next round.
Match: Pauline Parmentier Vs Alize Cornet
Result: Pauline Parmentier defeated Alize Cornet by 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 .
Highlights:
- It was a long lasting match that went on three hours as Pauline won the match in the end.
- Although, Pauline lost the first set to Alize but she didn’t lose hope and sealed the victory by winning the next two sets.
- Pauline will now play against Caroline Wozniacki in the round of 32.
Match: Daria Kasatkina Vs Kirsten Flipkens
Result: Daria Kasatkina defeated Kirsten Flipkens by 6-3, 6-3.
Highlights:
- Kirsten struggled hard against the Russian star Daria but failed to make it to the next round.
- Daria beat Kirsten in a rhythm 6-3, 6-3 like Sloane did to Magdalena in the second round.
- Daria will now face Maria Sakkari of Greece in the round of 32.
