#2 No Logical Team Selection
Not giving a chance to youngsters is one thing, however Kohli has also failed to make the right selection from its experienced players.
World Cricket Rankings – 15th Aug ’18: Pakistan Retains Top T20 Rank
The prime example being, Cheteshwar Pujara who was excluded from the squad, in the first test which India lost by 31 runs. Not selecting Pujara was the Indian captain’s biggest blunder in the first test, as he has been the best batsman in the Indian team for the last couple of years.
Aside from the Pujara matter, Kohli’s tendency to regularly back players in spite of them not performing admirably is also a weakness in his strategies as a captain.
For instance, Murali Vijay has been out of touch for a long time, however Kohli has still remained persistent with the opener, which has not allowed India to make swift starts in the recent test matches.
#1 Indian Side May Need Kohli To Step Down
The Indian side are probably going to lose their third test and there is a high chance of them, getting whitewashed by England, however this might be averted if Kohli chooses to step down.
There are a couple of players like Ajinkya Rahane or Ravichandran Ashwin who could be considered for the captain role. This would be a new and welcoming change for Team India, and also work for them in the long run.

Moreover, the Indian side would not be affected if Kohli steps down, as he is already performing extremely well with the bat, having scored his first century in England in the 1st Test.
Notwithstanding, the good thing is that regardless of whether he steps down, his batting would not be influenced. This is because Kohli is focused on scoring and he will keep on doing so, regardless of whether he plays under another person.
Social Media Reactions On Kohli’s Captaincy
Throughout the ongoing series against England, cricket fans have questioned Kohli’s captaincy. Have a look at some of their reactions:
If India lose the 3rd Test, BCCI should appoint a Team Director who supersedes the coach. Just like Shastri was appointed in a similar situation in 2014. And if Kohli doesn’t agree, so be it. He can step down/be sacked as captain. His batting is more valuable than his captaincy.

I am a die hard Team India fan but I don’t believe Kohli is a good captain either, most of this test/odi/t20 wins are in Subcontinent or if abroad it is against a regrouping side. God forbid if we don’t do good in 2019 WC he should step down as captain himself.

Actually kohli should step down in favour of a dalit player who should be named as captain of the cricket team of BCCI

So the point is, Kohli is a great batsman but a very poor captain. We don’t need him as a captain. Indian Test Cricket is losing it’s strength. We need someone with a vision and calm person. He needs to step down as soon as he can if he really cares about Indian Cricket.
Thanks.
