This is one player that has been the reason behind a considerable measure of discussion and contention in the recent couple of days. The controversy surrounding the off spinner started when Adil Rashid was named in England’s Test squad.
The reason behind this discussion was that Adil Rashid had already signed off from red ball cricket and was only playing white ball cricket for his county club, Yorkshire. So, when the English spinner changed his mind to play international test cricket, criticisms from former English players like Michael Vaughan, Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain and others were an obvious result.
Nonetheless, the 30-year-old leg spinner has been in great shape in limited overs cricket. This is evident from his record, as he has collected 36 wickets from a total of 19 ODI’s; one of the reasons why he was picked for India Vs England Test series.
Moreover, Rashid has been extremely consistent as his line, length and varieties have all been right on the money. And, his delivery to Virat Kohli in the third ODI is a sheer proof of his red hot form.

Another strong point, as to why Rashid will make an impact in India Vs England Tests, is because the last time Adil Rashid played international test cricket, was against India. In the 5 tests, the googly master took 23 wickets from 5 tests and was acclaimed as England’s best bowler of the series.
But, in any case, it was a year ago that he played his last red-ball game and it will take some enthusiasm from the leg spinner to perform once again, against a rampant Indian batting line up.
