#4 Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik is one of the players in this Indian group, who has been batting flawlessly for a long while now. Be that as it may, he has not gotten a considerable measure of chances. This is the reason as to why the wicket keeper batsman, has by far played only two matches on this English tour.
One opportunity was given to him against Ireland (he did not get to bat), and the other was provided to him in the 3rd ODI against England where he scored an excellent 21 runs.
Also, before the English tour, Karthik made his Test rebound against Afghanistan, a match in which India secured an emphatic win. While the aforementioned scenarios, do not fully prove his worth, however, his red hot form can be demonstrated from the fact that he had a stupendous IPL, in which he almost led KKR to the finals.
At present, Wriddhiman Saha (India’s main test wicket keeper) is not available, and this gives Dinesh Karthik a superb chance to take the wicket keeping gloves, while also playing a key role at the number 6 batting position.
Recently the wicket keeper batsmen has looked in magnificent touch, as he scored 82 runs in the warm up match against English county club, Essex. This means that he is more than ready to take his chances against the fiery bowling line-up of England.
However, the most important reason as to why Karthik has to perform is because of India’s shaky middle order, and its weakness to collapse. This is why, Karthik’s individual role at the 6th position will be critical, especially if India lose quick wickets to English pacers.
