Highlights:
· RCB and Mumbai Indians were not having the IPL season that they were expecting. Both teams are ranked low on the points table and a win was compulsory for both of them.
· However, only one team was going to win this match and that’s exactly what happened.
· Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to field first on a pitch that was going to support pacers.
· RCB batsmen struggled against Mumbai’s bowling attack as not one batsman scored a fifty in this innings.
· However, RCB batsmen played like a team as McCullum, Virat, Colin and Manan Vohra contributed valuable runs to the team. This allowed RCB to put on a challenging total of 167 runs on the board.
· Mumbai Indians now needed 168 runs to win this match. But, RCB had upgraded their pace attack this season and this is where they overcame Mumbai Indians in this game.
· Quick wickets and lack of partnerships was the story of the first 10 overs of Mumbai innings and they needed someone to rebuild their innings.
· Duminy and Pandya added some runs but Mumbai sunk further as a run out sent Duminy back to the pavilion.
· Hardik Pandya was then joined by his brother, Krunal as both batsmen gave Mumbai some hope with their power-hitting shots.
· However, RCB bounced back just in time Southee and Siraj got rid of these batsmen and RCB won the match by 14 runs.
