Pakistan Men’s Tennis team won the silver medal in the finals against Turkey, which comfortably defeated Pakistan to win the men’s team gold medal for the first time at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku on Monday.
Altug Celikbilek got the Turks off to a superb start in the final with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Aqeel Khan and then Anil Yuksel clinched the title with a 6-0, 7-6 triumph over Muhammad Abid.
Turkey also took the gold in the women’s team competition winning all four round-robin games to ensure gold ahead of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
