ITF Pakistan World Jr. Ranking Tennis C’ship 2019: Day 1 – Top Seeds Move Ahead

ISLAMABAD: Twenty seven (27) matches of Boys & Girls singles and doubles were played on the opening day of Syed Tajammul Abbas ITF Pakistan World Junior Ranking Tennis Championships here at S. Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad.

Top Seed Huzaifa Abdul Rehman started his sailing in positive note by beating qualifier Luca Schurdevin of France in straight sets. All the remaining seeded players except 3^rd Seed Saqib Hayat, moved to next round by beating their respective opponents in the first round.

The best encounter of the day was played between 3^rd Seed Saqib Hayat (PAK) and Nathan Jattavapornvanit (THA) which was won by Thai player in three sets match. In the first set Saqib Hayat build up the winning lead by breaking, 3^rd, 5^th and 7^th game of Nathan. In the second set both players played excellent game with the combination of forehand and cross court short and Nathan building up the lead 5-3 by breaking 7^th game of Saqib and hold the 10^th game and level the match one set all. In the third set Nathan started aggressively and buildup the winning lead by breaking 5^thand 9^th game of Saqib.
