ITF Pakistan World Jr. Ranking Tennis C’ship 2019: Major Upsets In Girls Matches

ISLAMABAD: The day of upsets in Girls eventby Korean players;  unseeded Soo Han Jang of Korea caused the major upset of the tournament when she eliminated top seed Mina Toglukdemir (TUR) in straight sets. Another unseeded Korean player Ji Hyun Kang (KOR) stunned 2nd Seed Rosaleen Alioussef (RUS) in straight sets. Unseeded Russian Girl Arina Valitova (RUS) beat 4th Seed Bee Francesca Acena (PHI) in a thrilling and exciting three sets match; unseeded Hong Kong Kit Yi Kaye Au-Yeung (HKG) sidelined the 5th seed Renee Marie Acena of Philippines in straight sets in the Syed Tajammul Abbas ITF Pakistan World Junior Ranking Tennis Championships at S. Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad.

In the Boys Singles event, top seed Huzaifa Abdul Rehman (PAK) continued his winning streak and eliminated German opponent Luca Emanuel Knese in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 whereas 2nd seed Muhammad Nauman Aftab of Pakistan lost his match in the pre-quarterfinal stage against Togan Makzaume of Turkey in straight sets.  Another exciting match of the day was played in pre-quarterfinal and won by unseeded Thai player Taentawan Majoli against 7th seed Ali Alshati of Kuwait. Both the players displayed excellent game of tennis by playing cross court forehand, backhand drives with combination of some down the lines winners. 5th Seed Shoaib Khan of Pakistan was lucky when his opponent Tin Tran of Vietnam retired hurt due to knee injury at score 3-0.

Boys Singles & Girls Singles quarter finals will be played on Thursday at 9:00 AM, Boys & Girls Doubles Semi Finals at 1:30 PM.
