The monthly Golf Club Bridge was held at the picturesque Karsaz venue wherein 18 Pairs contested the monthly Pairs Crown. After fluctuating fortunes the event was won by the highly-experienced Life Master Shahin Iqbal, who based on his phenomenal record is always the favourite to win the Golf Club Pairs.
Partnering a makeshift partner, the highly aggressive Ghufran Ashraf, the Pair playing very competitive good Bridge managed to outclass all others by a big lead aggregating 64.8% compared with the Runners up Score of 57.14% that was accomplished by another makeshift partnership of the very talented Hamid Mohiuddin pairing with the ever steady Capt Sami. Third in line was the prolific Tehseen Gheewala playing with the upcoming Zia Hai with a score of 55.65% beating by a whisker the pair of Tahir Dada and the highly-rated Hasan Askari standing at 55.45%.
Karachi Bridge Associates: 23rd April Weekly Event
The next weekend KBA Bridge Pairs will be held at the Aslam Bridge Hall on Friday 28th April at 06:00 pm sharp.
The KBA Management in order to promote bridge especially among the young Pakistanis organizes weekly events in venues which include Karachi Gymkhana, Karachi Club, Defence Club or Golf Club or at Aslam Hall.
Besides the weekly events, annually there are two major Pairs & Teams events each at Karachi Club and Karachi Gymkhana. In addition, KBA also conducts a couple of preliminary Open Trials for selecting a team for international participation and Finals of All Pakistan National Trials under Pakistan Bridge Federation.
