During the February 2020 tour of MCC – Marylebone Cricket Club tour to Pakistan, the President of the MCC, and the legend from Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara will captain the team. The tour matches are planned to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Kumar Sangakkara has been elected as the President of the distinguished club during May 2019. In the history of the club, it was for the first time that the President was not a British.
Founded in 1787, MCC has been operating from the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, which is regarded as the Home of Cricket. MCC’s main importance since it came into being is that it is regarded as the sole authority and custodian of the cricketing laws. Till present MCC is relied upon to draft the cricket laws.
