The 104th event of the Indy 500 is set to be held on 23rd August with 33 drivers, 200 laps and 500 miles distance.
Honda won 13 of the top 17 positions in the 33-car starting grid of the 2020 Indianapolis 500 motor-sports. The other 4 cars were Chevrolet that had been leading during the past 2 years.
In the last 2 years Chevrolet has been Indy 500 champion. Prior to that Honda took lead for 2 years. It seems that Honda is ready to lead again or bridge the gap against Chevrolet this year.
The comparison during the practice and qualifying sessions between Honda and Chevrolet was:
1- On Sunday during the post-qualifying practice Honda further bridged the gap against Chevrolet. Only 4 of the top 10 cars were Chevrolet whereby Honda dominated due to its technology.
2- On Saturday Honda won all of top 5 positions, 8 of top 9 spots and scored nearly all of the top 12 positions.
3- On Friday Honda won 13 of the top 15 positions during the practice session.
