Islam Group outpaced Remington Pharma by 5-1 to clinch the New Year Polo Cup. Veteran polo star Raja Sami Ullah emerged as hero of the day from the title-winning team as he hammered fabulous four goals while his teammate Muhammad Matloon Aizad converted one. The only goal from Remington Pharma was scored by Mustafa Aziz.
Muhammad Raza Behboudi and Lt Col Omer Minhas supervised the final as field umpires.
Earlier in the subsidiary final, FG/Din Polo Team outlasted COLAB Polo Team by 5-2. Omer Ellahi and Abbas Mukhtar played heroes’ role from the winning team as they pumped in three and two goals each while Lt Col Omer Minhas banged in a brace from the losing side.
Maj Gen (R) Hanif Minhas distributed the prizes among the winners and top performers.
