The opener cemented his place as a six hitting machine, when he scored his first double hundred against Australia in 2013. His innings of 209 runs consisted of 12 fours and 16 towering sixes. This blistering knock helped India to garner a total of 383 runs which resulted in their victory.
In the very next year, the Rohit Sharma broke the record of his fellow national Virendar Sehwag by registering a score of 264 runs against Sri Lanka. This innings consisted of 33 fours and 9 sixes and it took Rohit only 173 balls to reach this landmark.
This was not end of the story, at least not for Rohit Sharma. As, ‘The Hitman’ registered yet another double hundred in 2017 against Sri Lanka. This innings of 208* runs consisted of 13 fours and 12 sixes and it took Rohit Sharma only 153 balls to reach this landmark.

Chris Gayle reaffirmed his status as “The Universe Boss” when he struck 215 runs in the ICC World Cup 2015. With already numerous cricket records to his name, Gayle did not face any difficulty to reach his first ever ODI double century against Zimbabwe.
This innings consisted of 10 fours and 16 sixes, as Chris Gayle became the first non-Indian batsman to have a double century under his name.
