WAPDA team lifted the 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship 2022 Trophy.
Organized by Pakistan Federation Baseball and held at Jinnah Stadium, Gujranwala, Pakistan WAPDA team defeated Pakistan Army in a tough competition with the score 13-12. The Bronze was won by HEC-Higher Education Commission team by defeating the Punjab team.
The final match which consisted of 7 innings, Pakistan WAPDA after a tough competition defeated Pakistan Army 13-12. From Pakistan WAPDA, Madiha and Noorina scored 3 runs each, Zainab Riaz, Ayesha and Iram Shehzadi scored 2 runs each while Saiqa contributed with 1 run. For Army Asia score 3 runs, Humaira Khan and Zahida Ghani scored 2 runs each while Aqsa, Samya Khan, Rabia Shahid, Ansa and Madiha Batool scored 1 run each.
In the Bronze Medal match, HEC team defeated Punjab team 12-2. From HEC, Tasmia, Gul Feroze, Waheeda and Arim scored 2 runs each while Aleena, Ayesha, Khyzra, Anmol and Minahel contributed 1 run each. For Punjab Maryam and Nida score 1 run each. After the victory in this match, the HEC team won the bronze medal in the championship.
The Chief Guest of the final match was Commissioner Gujranwala, Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghuman who along with Tanveer Ahmed, CEO Ajwa City and Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, President PFB distributed medals and prizes.
