Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 10 wickets in the final of the 4th T20 Blind Cricket World Cup at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
Blind cricket is a modified version of the game for blind and partially sighted players, governed by the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) since 1996.
This year, Pakistan hosted the tournament, with teams from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Africa, Nepal, and Afghanistan participating. Pakistan dominated the tournament, remaining undefeated throughout.
In the final match, Bangladesh scored 139 runs after losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Pakistan’s Babar Ali took two wickets in four overs, giving away 24 runs. In response, Pakistan completed the target without losing a wicket in the 11th over, with Captain Nisar Ali scoring 72 runs and Muhammad Safdar scoring 47 runs.
The victory was widely celebrated, with congratulatory messages pouring in from various dignitaries, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
The president congratulated the team on their victory, lauding their potential to achieve excellence in sports. The prime minister praised the team’s exceptional teamwork and passion throughout the tournament.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the team and management, highlighting their dedication and teamwork. Other dignitaries, including PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, also congratulated the team on their historic achievement.
