The General Tyre ITF J5 Junior Tennis Championships Week II continued at the PTF Complex, Islamabad. On 3rd December, Boys singles & Doubles semi-finals, Girls singles semi-finals & doubles final will be played.
In the Boys singles event, Muhammad Shoaib, Rohan Belday, Siddhartha Lama and Roy Keegan moved into the semi-finals by winning their respective matches in straight sets.
Top seed Muhammad Shoaib of Pakistan eliminated 3rd seed Russlan Serazhetdinov of Russia without any resistance 6-1, 6-4.
Unseeded Siddhartha Lama of USA also displayed quality tennis to beat Zalan Khan of Pakistan 6-0, 6-4 and will face M. Shoaib in the semifinal.
In the third quarter final of Boys singles, Roy Keegan of Britain registered a straight-set win against Alexandar Karman of USA in a well contested two-set match.
In the last quarter final, Rohan Belday of USA beat Aki Zuben Rawat of Nepal in another one-sided affair 6-2, 6-2. He will meet Roy Keegan in the semifinal tomorrow at 10 AM.
In the doubles event, Abdullah of Pakistan pairing with Aoi Ooka of Japan caused a major upset in the quarter-final by eliminating 3rd seed Zalan Khan of Pakistan and Ruslan Serazhetdinov of Russia in a thrilling three set match and moved into the semifinal.
In the Girls Doubles event, Abhilasha Bista of Nepal / Arina Valitova of Russia and Zoha Asim of Pakistan / Margarita Okhendovskaya of Ukraine qualified for the girls double final.
