The Punjab Amateur Golf Championship for 2021 concluded at the Sunrise Golf Club, Bahawalpur after three rounds of clash between golfing aspirants of merit.
And though at least three of them looked capable, qualified and efficient in their application of golfing skills, it was the boyish and vibrant Damil Ataullah of Lahore Garrison who ended up triumphant with rounds of 81, 71 and a final round of 77. His aggregate score counted to 229 and enabled him to relish victory with a four stroke advantage over his adversary Osama Nadeem of Sargodha who managed rounds of 89 on the first day, an improved 75 on the second day and a wonderful 69 on the last day. It was through the final round excellence that Osama leaped to the distinguished runners up slot and commanded an impressive position in this title bearing event.
Third position was attained by Noman Ilyas and his aggregate score for the three rounds was 241.
Damil Ataullah who is in his teens has been a part of the golf scene for about ten years now and though his performance as a junior has always been imposing, it is heartening to see him distinguish himself as the Punjab Amateur Title holder for 2021 at the age of eighteen years. His golfing talent is visible and with benevolent and supportive parents and back up from Pakistan Golf Federation and Punjab Golf Association, he can be nurtured as a champion who can unveil his wide array of golfing skills on the international scene.
Damil Ataullah, besides capturing the Punjab Amateur Golf Title, he also won awards for Longest Drive and Maximum Birdies.
As for the Ladies category, Parkha Ijaz of Defence Raya was once again the ferocious one, her all round game looking sensation loaded. There were no imperfections and her control over her shot making was exceptional. Such a mastery brings to her bag another distinguished title of Punjab Ladies Amateur Champion 2021.
In the race for honors in the ladies section Rimsha Ijaz, also of Defence Raya and Parkha ‘s sister played well enough to end up as the runners up.
