Pakistan beat Ireland by 5 wickets in their 1st ever Test match in cricket’s history.
Although, Ireland made Pakistan toil and even threatened to take out their vulnerable batting line-up. But in the end, Imam-ul-Haq’s 126-run stand with Babar Azam proved to be enough as Pakistan won the match by 5 wickets.
Ireland’s fightback that was led by Kevin ‘O Brien’s century was quite commendable, however, it was not enough to get them over the line in their first and historic test match.
Pakistan bowling attack also played a huge role in winning the match for their team as their timely wickets kept Ireland at bay in the whole match. Especially Mohammad Abbas who took 9 wickets in this match was quite commendable in his bowling.
His accurate line and lengths allowed him to take wickets and crucial times as the Irish batsmen were no match in front of his bowling skills.
Where the match was won?
There were several moments in this match that can be termed a match-changing, however Pakistan’s 1st innings score of 310 was a vital reason for winning this match.
If they had no scored those runs in that innings it would have been difficult for Pakistan to win this match from a motivated Irish team who fought till the end with the intent to win.
