Highlights & Analysis
Pakistan Vs Scotland: 1st Innings
Sarfraz chose to bat first on the same ground, hoping that his team replicates the performance in the 1st T20 against Scotland.
A similar start was made by the Pakistani openers as both Zaman and Shehzad began to blast runs off the bat.
Both batsmen reached their 50-run stand inside overs with Fakhar being the biggest contributor to this partnership.
Shehzad was looking in good nick but he failed once again to convert his score into a fifty as Leask claimed his wicket.
Hussain Talat joined Fakhar Zaman. But, things only became worse for Pakistan as Zaman lost his wicket in the very next over to Watt.
The man of the match from the 1st T20, Sarfraz Ahmed joined Talat. But, the Pakistan captain’s luck ran out after Watt took a stunning catch at the boundary.
Now, the young guns, Asif Ali and Hussain Talat had a golden opportunity to showcase their skills.
But, a match changing over by Leask put Scotland in front as Talat and Asif departed in the same over.
At this point Pakistan were 5 wickets down for the loss of 98 runs. And, getting a big total was now in the hands of Shadab and the experienced Shoaib Malik.
The Scottish bowlers had the chance to finish it off but Malik denied them this opportunity as boundaries started to flow freely off his bat.
And, with the help of Shadab Khan, Malik scored 49 runs and took Pakistan to 166 runs in 20 overs.
The Scottish captain Coetzer joined Berrington. But the partnership between the two batsmen lasted only 20 runs as Faheem claimed the wicket of Berrington.
Coetzer also couldn’t last very long as Shenwari’s fiery form rewarded him with the Scottish captain’s wicket and Scotland were 3 down inside 5 overs.
Budge and Macleod were now present on the crease. At this point, Sarfraz changed his tactics to spin and brought Nawaz and Shadab on to bowl.
The pressure created by the two spinners worked swiftly as Budge got run-out in the 8th over.
Nawaz struck in the very next over as Leask’s swipe shot went straight into Shadab’s reliable hands.
Scotland had lost half of their wickets and still needed 117 runs to win this match.
At this point, Pakistan Vs Scotland match became pretty much one-sided.
But, Pakistani bowlers, especially Shadab Khan didn’t take their foot off the gas as he claimed his 1st wicket in his 3rd over.
Panic was now setting in the Scottish team and it became evident as in an effort to score runs, two batsmen namely Sharif and Watt got run-out in the 14th over.
Pakistan were only 2 wickets away from clean sweeping Scotland and they achieved this feat in the very next over.
As, Faheem Ashraf finished it off for Pakistan by taking 2 wickets in 3 balls and Pakistan won the match by 48 runs.
7th consecutive match and series win for Pakistan in T20Is. Haven’t lost a series since World T20 2016. Beaten England, New Zealand, WI (thrice), Sri Lanka, World XI, Scotland. #ScotvPak

Sad ICC changed their policy of having t20 worldcup from every 2 years to 4 years, otherwise Pakistan would have favourites to win it this year. This is a complete T20 team, explosive opener, middle order that rotates well, lower order hitters & a lot of bowling riches.
