According to media reports, the former US Marine George Hood has created a new planking world record for the “Longest Male Abdominal Plank” category.
He held the position for an unbelievable 8 hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds, and had his name ready to be included in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The event was part of a fundraising competition to raise awareness of mental wellbeing, held in Illinois, USA.
The previous record was held by a police officer from China, namely Mao Weidong, which George Hood surpassed by almost 14 minutes.
Being 60 years plus, Mr. Hood went through a rigorous 2,100 hours of training and practice to prepare for this World record breaking feat.
The training involved mind-blowing 674,000 sit-ups and 270,000 push-ups.
George Hood previously completed an even longer plank in 2018, registering a barely comprehensible session of 10 hours and 10 minutes.
