Polo Peace Cup 2019: Day 4 – Remington & Barry’s Victorious
LAHORE: Remington Pharma and Barry’s registered victories in the Polo for Peace Cup 2019 and qualified for the main and subsidiary finals respectively.
Remington Pharma thrashed Master Paints by nine goals to two and a half to qualify for the Polo for Peace Cup 2019 main final.
Saqib Khan played key role in Remington Pharma’s victory as he smashed in superb six while he was ably assisted and supported by Badal Khan. Omer Minhas contributed with a brace and Taimur Ali Malik with one goal. From Master Paints, Bilal Haye struck both the goals while they had also half goal handicap advantage.
Remington started the match with a field goal by Saqib to take 1-0 lead, which could not last long as Bilal Haye struck an equalizer to level the score at 1-1. In the dying moments of the first chukker, Saqib slammed another field goal to provide his side 2-1 lead.
Master Paints started the second chukker in great style as Bilal Haye converted another equalizer to square the things at 2-2. It was all that Master Paints could get from the match as Remington fully dominated the remaining match and smashed in seven goals – two each in second and third chukker and three in fourth and last chukker – to finish the match having healthy lead of 9-2. With half goal handicap advantage for Master Paints, the final score was nine goals to two and a half in favour of Remington Pharma.
Polo Peace Cup 2019: Day 3 – Char Bagh Wins
The second match of the day saw Barry’s beating Diamond Paints by seven goals and a half goals to five.
Agha Musa emerged as hero of the day for Barry’s as he hammered a hat-trick while he was ably assisted by Omer Malhi and Jameel Barry, who contributed with two goals each. From Diamond Paints, Adnan Jalil Azam smashed in a hat-trick while Mir Huzaifa banged in a brace.
