Former Australian captain and cricket coach Ricky Ponting is widely considered to be the greatest batsman of all time due to his phenomenal batting skills and the highest test batting average of 51.85 runs per innings.
The veteran Australian cricketer faced countless bowlers during his 17-year-long international cricket career including some of the very best the sport had to offer.
Now, the 45-year-old cricket legend has revealed the best and fastest bowlers that he ever faced on the pitch in a recent social media interaction where he was asked which bowlers he least liked to face.
Ponting answered that Pakistani seamer Wasim Akram and West Indian Curtly Ambrose were the greatest bowlers he had ever faced.
Talking about the fastest bowler, he named Pakistan’s pace sensation Shoaib Akhtar but noted that it was Indian spin master Harbhajan Singh who claimed his wickets most of the times.
Ponting has stepped back into the public domain and is set to lead a team of former cricket greats along with Aussi Bowler Shane Warne for a fundraising match for Australian bushfires ahead of the BBL- Big Bash League final on February 8.
Other retired players returning for the charity match include legends such as Bushfire Cricket Bash, include Justin Langer, Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee, Shane Watson and Alex Blackwell.
