Highlights:
- The defending champions of the Premier League, Manchester City began their title defence with a 2-0 win against ‘The Gunners’.
- In the first half, pressure was asserted onto Arsenal, when Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling who dodged two players to score his 50th Premier League goal.
14′ Goal for City; Raheem Stirling. Flirted with defenders on the edge of the box then powers it into the bottom right. Defence should probably have tackled or blocked and Cech was unsighted so didn’t really have a chance. 0-1. #EmeriOut banners already flying.

- Despite several attacks, Arsenal remained goalless in the first half, as it ended with Manchester City in the lead.
- In the 2nd half, the defending champions continued their dominance as Sergio Aguero came close to scoring but his error in judgement lost him his chance.
- But, it did not matter as in the next attack, Benjamin Mendy set Barnardo Silva for an excellent goal at the 64th minute.

- During the whole match, Arsenal barely took half the chances, as compared to Manchester City who won the match with ease.
I don’t know what I was thinking honestly. I think I relied more on Sanchez’s potential striker role & penalty taking (pre-deadline), Jota’s home comfort, Townsend’s preseason form and Bernardo Silva’s attacking instinct..
