- A first half dominance allowed Tottenham Hotspur to open their account in the Premier League 2018-19, on a winning note.
- In the first half, Cristian Eriksen took a superb corner to Davinson Sanchez, who passed it to Vertonghen. And, the defender did no mistake in finding the back of the net and putting his team in the lead.
None of Spurs 113 goals across all competitions last season were scored and assisted by their centre-backs.

Great Newcastle lost. Can’t stop laughing at those who spent money to watch them. They don’t use your money for anything good so use it for yourself. Mike Ashley won’t pay your bills.

Tottenham showing that you don’t need loads of new signings to have a winning start to the season. Meanwhile Newcastle showing that you do need loads of signings to have a winning start to the season.
