After Manchester United’s loss to West Brom, Manchester City has been confirmed to be the Premier League Champions.
This is third time that Manchester City has claimed the Premier League title. What’s interesting is that this is only the first time that a team has won a Premier League title under Pep Guardiola – Manchester City’s manager.
Manchester City enjoyed a phenomenal run in this season as they won the title with 5 games still to be played by them. Currently, City has only lost 2 games out of 33 – a phenomenal record.
This Premier League season has also been the most dominating one by Manchester City as they lead the table by a huge margin.
How did Manchester City win?
After City’s victory against Tottenham yesterday, there was only one team between them and the trophy – Manchester United.
But, after the Red devils were handed a shocking defeat by West Brom, Manchester City Premier League title got confirmed.
Manchester City had a chance to win the title last week but their second loss in 33 matches against Manchester United forced them to wait.
Nevertheless, the Premier League toppers who are 15 points clear of Manchester United won the title today with 5 games to spare.
The Premier League title would act as a soothing of the Champion league wounds as City was ousted by Liverpool in the quarterfinals.
