The North versus South much awaited match of the New Zealand’s domestic rugby season has been delayed by a week due to New Zealand encountering the second outbreak if Coronavirus. The North vs South match was first played in 1897.
The two teams will will now be held on 5th September in Wellington. The decision was announced by Chris Lendrum, the spokesman of the New Zealand Rugby.
New Zealand is the current World Rugby title holder in both Men as well as Women categories.
The final decision about spectators is subject to the governments final decision based on the alert level. However, as the level is unlikely to go to level one, thereby chances of crowds being permitted is limited.
Fans who have bought tickets to the originally scheduled match at Eden Park are encouraged to hold onto their tickets until further notice.
New Zealand will also be hosting the Four-Nations Rugby Championship and a series of Bledisloe Cup Tests against Australia in near future.
