Both the men’s and women’s World Sevens Series titles have been awarded to New Zealand. This is after the remaining rounds have been cancelled due to the coronavirus attack.
In the men’s rounds All Blacks had won three out of six, with four tournaments to be held in London, Paris, Singapore and Hong Kong were called off
The Black Ferns had won four of the five rounds of the women’s events, but three legs of Paris, Langford and Hong Kong were cancelled.
The World Rugby chairman Sir Bill Beaumont commented that although it has been quite disappointing for players, fans and all involved to face the cancellation of these events, however, the priority remains to be the health and well being of the rugby community and overall society.
