Shaun Murphy held his nerves to claim his second title of the season when he defeated Kyren Wilson 10-7 in the final of the Tours Championship. In a see-saw contest, which provided the viewers with all the thrills, Murphy withstood the Wilson onslaught to pocket $185,000 top prize. Wilson started in a whirlwind manner, winning the opening four frames of the contest. However, Murphy rallied back to level the match and proved the better player in the evening session.
There were 22 century breaks made during the championship with Ryan Day in the third frame of quarter final match, made his third competitive maximum break match. Ryan in the same match also made a rare 16-red clearance.

In the semifinals, Murphy defeated Mark Selby whereas Wilson denied Ding his maiden endeavor for the trophy.
The fifth edition of 2023 Tour Championship was held from 27th March to 2nd April 2023 at the Bonus Arena in Hull, England with a prize money of £380,000, with the winner purse being £150,000. Neil Robertson was the 2022 defending champion.
