Yet another milestone for Pakistan in the sport of Snooker as it has been awarded the ACBS Asian Team Event and 6-Red Snooker Championship for 2019.
The announcement was made by Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association and it is a great hallmark for this sport as it will bring endless opportunities for local snooker fans and players alike.
In a meeting tabled by President, Mr. Munawwar Hussain Shaikh, Pakistan placed its bid for hosting the ACBS Asian Team event.
The bid was placed by Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association at the 33rd ACBS Annual General Meeting held in Iran in 2018 during the 34th Snooker Championship.
And, this bid was was unanimously approved by the ACBS Board and member countries as Pakistan will now host the ACBS Asian Team Event & 6-Red Snooker Championships in 2019.
It was also an achievement for Pakistan snooker as after a period of 3 years this mega event of ACBS Asian Team Event & 6-Red Snooker Championship was awarded again to Pakistan. And, PBSA officials are pretty confident that it will be a memorable 2019.
This Snooker championship is scheduled to be held in April 2019 in the city of Karachi. And, the detailed planning of this mega event will soon be commenced after properly coordinating with the sponsor and a long-term supporter of Snooker i.e. Jubilee Insurance.

Snooker is a popular sport in major cities of Pakistan like Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Multan etc. And, this championship will provide this sport a major boost as local fans of this sport will be able to witness World class snooker right in front of their eyes.
