Breaking: Real Madrid Appoints Julen Lopetegui As Their Manager
This decision came as a shock especially to Spanish fans as FIFA World Cup 2018 is all set to start from tomorrow.
Luis Rubiales, the current president of Spanish Football federation said that the termination of Β Jolen Lopetegui’s contract came on a matter of principle. As, the former Spanish coach went behind their back and negotiated a 3-year deal with Real Madrid.
This came as a major blow to Spain who are only 2 days away from taking part in their first game at the FIFA World Cup 2018.
Rubiales had a meeting with Spanish players and their captain Sergio Ramos along with other players wanted Julen to continue. But, Rubiales didn’t compromise as it was a matter of ethics and sacked the Spanish coach.
The only error made by Julen Lopetegui in this situation was that he did not inform the Spanish Football Federation of his deal with Real Madrid. This was the main and only reason as to why Rubiales had to take this step and terminate the Spanish manager’s contract.
Meanwhile, the new coach Fernando Hierro has taken over as the new coach of Spain.

Own goal by Spain to sack Julen Lopetegui on eve of World Cup even if they didnβt like timing of his Real Madrid appointment. Disruptive.
