Hi everyone! ?
So, shock horror, it finishes as a draw between Celta ? & Espanyol ?⚪️…for the 4th time in 6 meetings. In the end, both goals scored by away players – Mario Hermoso & David Lopez (own goal).

- The clubs contracted new chiefs subsequent to frustrating efforts last season, when Espanyol completed eleventh and Celta was just thirteenth, a long way from capability for the European rivalries.
- Mario Hermoso put Espanyol ahead at Balaidos Stadium with a shot from inside the territory after a corner just before halftime.
I think I might become one of those Madridistas who bitterly posts “why did we sell X player? He’s better than Y player”, but instead of pining for James, it will be about Mario Hermoso.

- Celta leveled from the get-go in the 2nd half with an own goal by David Lopez, who endeavoured to capture a cross and wound up diverting the ball into his own particular net.

Highlights:
- Villarreal began its 2018-19 season with an exceptionally disillusioning execution. Santi Cazorla beginning was a tremendous enthusiastic lift for the group, and after a genuinely even initial ten minutes Villarreal started to turn it on.
- Gerard Moreno scored at the 16th minute, and there were almost 2 more goals in the following five minutes as the Submarine turned it on.
Gerard Moreno scores goals, the grass is green. Lovely feet to sort the angle out, before a low, well-struck finish that left Rulli with no chance. You don’t stop those.

- In any case, with five minutes to go before the break, Funes Mori, who had looked incredible to that point, miskicked the ball back to Sergio Asenjo, and Willian José took the chance and equalised the scoreboard.
Willian Jose! Pick that one out. Slamming it home, and levelling things up in the process for #RealSociedad. #VillarrealRealSociedad

- After the break, Alvaro Gonzalez’s mistimed shot gave Juanmi the chance to go ahead and hammer a solid shot past Asenjo to put his team in the lead.
Juanmi continues to be one of the best super subs in the division. His movement is always spot on, but that finish is lovely too.

- In reply, Real Sociedad could not score as the Villarreal won their opening match of La Liga 2018-19.
