A “Run for Kashmir Marathon” was held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan to express solidarity with people of Kashmir.
A considerable number of people participated for different walks of life which also included disabled sportsperson and supporters of Kashmir cause. These included some players such as Murad Khan who is a Karate Gold Medalist in South Asian Games. The other notable sport person was Komal Khan who is Pakistan’s Junior No. 1 in game of Squash.
The marathon was held in Peshawar Sports Complex with full fan fair which included colourful decorations. Run for Kashmir Marathon Race was divided in the following distance categories ranging for 1 km to 42 km.
Held in a festive environment the organizers – Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and District Administration of KPK province re affirmed the support to the people of Kashmir till their right of self determination has been met. Especially the one-year-long lock down struggle which occupied Kashmiri’s are going through after the Indian government illegally revoked the Article 370’s in Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
