The famous Japanese sumo wrestling club Tamanoi-beya Sumo Stable has been banned to play AGST Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament 2020.
The decision was announced by JSO-Japan Sumo Association on 10th September, due to 19 wrestlers of the club having recently tested positive for C ’19. However, the ban has been imposed on all 28 wrestlers of the Tamanoi club as per corona virus related SOPs.
Shibatayama, Director of Communications – JSO, assured that 15 day tournament will be held as per schedule. The event is set to commence from 13th September at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan.
During July, in Tokyo JSA successfully held the Grand Sumo Tournament, in which limited audience of 2,500 with masks were permitted to attended.
