The event management announced that 2021 Auckland Classic tournament is being cancelled due to C ’19 virus.
Mr. Karl Budge the tournamanet director stated that due to the coronavirus attack there are many uncertainities, thereby, it is difficult to stage the hardcourt tournament. Especially as it is considered as a warm up to the AO-Australian Open and has participation of many stalwart tennis players. AO will be the first Grand Slan tournaent of the year 2021,
Serena Williams was the winner of Women’s title 2020, and the Frenchman Ugo Humbert won the Men’s single event.
The organisers are confident that the New Zealand tournament will take place during 2022.
