Johanna Konta announced that she is quitting the forthcoming WTA-Women’s Tennis Association event J & T Banka Ostrava Open 2020 to be held in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
According to her, the decision is based on corona pandemic related crisis. The 19 years old Konta who is ranked No. 1 in UK and No. 13 in the World Women’s singles category, as per strategy will be practicing during the remaining 2020 season and participate in events during the next season. Being out of practice she was knocked out after losing her Round 1 match of the French Open 2020.
The J & T Banka Ostrava Open 2020 with a prize money of $528,500 is set to commence on 19th October and will culminate on 25th October 2020. This event will be played on hard court based on 32 Singles Draws and 16 Doubles Draws.
