#7 Johnny Bairstow

Test Cricket

The Yorkshire wicket-keeping batsman has been a standout amongst the most enhanced cricketers in the previous couple of years.

In the wake of scoring two consecutive hundreds for his county club, Bairstow was given a chance at the English Test side against West Indies.

His debut was uneventful as he did not get to display his true talent in this series. But in the following series against South Africa he was recalled for the third test.

And this is when Bairstow traded out onto his chance with an abrasive 95 followed by a fifty in the second innings.

But, his true self emerged against the same opposition in 2015. As, the wicket-keeper batsman scored his maiden Test hundred in Cape Town and finished the series with 359 runs and a stunning average of 89.75.

Following that, Bairstow amassed 1470 runs in 2016 and since then the wicket keeper batsman has been a solid part of the English test side.

After a progression of steady exhibitions in limited overs cricket, Ashwin was optimized into Indian Test side in 2011.

With plenty of abilities in his arsenal namely the off-break and the carrom ball, Ashwin possesses the ability to trick the batsmen with his specialized comprehension.

His spinning prowess is indicated by his record of being the quickest to reach 300 Test wickets. Moreover, what really makes him a solid contender at number 8 is his batting ability to rotate the strike and add another 30-40 runs to the board.

At present, Ashwin has played 58 tests and taken 316 wickets with an average of 25.34 and a strike rate of 52.6.
