#9 Mitchell Starc

Test Cricket

With a striking consistency of delivering severe toe-crushers, Starc has continued to be a standout as the most fearsome fast bowlers in contemporary Test cricket.

At the start of his career inconsistent performances ruined Starc’s chances of becoming an all-round bowler. But this changed after the 2015 World Cup, where he was declared Player of the Tournament, and out came Starc 2.0.

2015 also brought him sheer pace as he broke the 160 km/hr barrier at the WACA cricket ground. In the same year, Starc got 87 wickets from all three formats and established himself as the pinnacle of fast bowling in the Australian cricket team.

In test cricket, Mithcell Starc has taken 182 wickets from 43 tests with an average of 28.17 and strike rate of 49.3.

#10 Kagiso Rabada

Test Cricket

In the wake of impelling his side to the U-19 World Cup eminence with a sparkling 6-25, Kagiso Rabada made it to the international side in 2015.

Widely considered as a true successor of Dale Steyn, Rabada possesses crude hostility and pace, thus establishing himself as the spearhead of Proteas pace attack. His most brilliant achievement came against England when he took three 5 wicket hauls in six innings.

Of only 22 years of age, Rabada has taken 152 wickets from 32 test matches with an average of 21.71 and strike rate of 39.3.

#11 James Anderson

Anderson has mastered swing bowling so much that, it’s relatively difficult to envision a World test XI without James Anderson.

The fast bowler made his debut in 2003, but remained out of the English side for the better part of 5 years. But, this portion of his career became overshadowed as he established himself as the master of reverse swing in English conditions.

His most important contributions with this ability, include the obliteration of Australia when he took 24 wickets from 5 matches. Then in 2012, Anderson displayed another show of reverse swing and lead England to a celebrated 2-1 series win over India.

At present, the fast bowler has collected 540 wickets from 138 test matches with an average of 27.23 and a strike rate of 56.2.
