#2 Kumar Sangakkara
The left-handed from Sri Lanka was extraordinary batsman. He scored in excess of 12,000 runs in Tests matches at an average of more than 57 which is superior to legends like Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, and Jacques Kallis.
Once in his professional career, he could score a triple century in 2014 against Bangladesh in Chittagong. He scored 319 from 482 balls and his innings included 32 fours and 8 sixes. He was fortunate that Nuwan Pradeep held the opposite end and he could achieve the 300 run figure.
In 2004 in the second Test of the Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, Commander Marvan Atapattu scored 249 and imparted a 438 run partnership with Kumar Sangakkara. After Atapattu’s was out, Sangakkara in partnership with Mahela Jayawardene scored 365 out of which 270 were scored by him and missed a triple century opportunity. His innings included 36 fours and 2 sixes.

The third triple century missed was during a Test series against South Africa. Sangakkara and Jayawardene piled up 624 runs which was the most noteworthy Sri Lankan for any wicket and outperformed the Jayasuriya and Roshan Mahanama’s partnership of 576 for the second wicket in 1997 against India.
Sangakkara scored 287 and missed a merited triple hundred. As record Jayawardene completed his triple century y scorong 374 and missed chancle to break Lara’s 375 record just by one run.
