Mr. Yoshihide Suga the Prime Minister of Japan has invited the IOC-International Olympics Committee President Thomas Bach and assured to provide all possible support to ensure that the Tokyo Olympics 2020-21 are held despite possibilities of corona pandemic continuing. In this regards, Tokyo Olympics Organizing Committee, CEO Toshiro Muto told that Mr. Bach might visit Japan by mid November.
In addition, the Prime Minister held talks with IOC officials and expressed that he was tied to the promises of his predecessor Mr. Shinzo Abe.
The budget for historically most expensive Tokyo Olympics is $ 12 Billion and many of the big expenses have already been made. The staunch support from Mr. Suga has raised hopes about release of remaining amounts in due course of time.
In addition, Mr. Suga showed more flexibility about the final outlook of the Games in 2021, while giving the final say to IOC. As to the decision regarding spectators it will be taken by year end.
